Hotel of the week
The hospitality industry has just added its progressive wing, said Shayla Martin in Architectural Digest. Eaton Workshop, a new hotel brand whose founder hopes to cultivate social activism, has planted the flagship—already dubbed the anti-Trump hotel—just blocks from the president’s own D.C. hotel. With its mid-century styling, the Eaton is “a beacon of warmth and serenity” that invites community involvement and the exchange of ideas through the inclusion of a radio station, a 50-seat cinema, a speakeasy, and a library stocked with radical literature.
