Prince — the legendary songwriter, musician, and actor — has died at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota. He was 57.

The news comes less than a week after TMZ reported that Prince's private jet had made an emergency landing in Illinois so the singer could seek medical treatment. At the time, the medical situation was explained as a bout of the flu, and he took the stage at a concert the next day, though he canceled several scheduled shows after.
