Orioles choose Adley Rutschman with No. 1 pick in MLB draft

With the first pick in the 2019 Major League Baseball draft, the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night selected catcher Adley Rutschman.

The 21-year-old from Sherwood, Oregon, played for Oregon State, and was named this season's Pac-12 player of the year. In 2018, Oregon State won its third College World Series title, with Rutschman named the most outstanding player of the tournament. This season, Rutschman had 17 home runs in 56 games.
